Why me?
Hi, I’m Lee.
A Coach, Consultant, and Marketer.
The have been three periods in my life –
Before Service, During Service and After Service.
Before Service
My early life saw me involved in mostly Sporting activities. I was always short (in statue) so my parents enrolled me in Karate classes, this led me to gain 1st Dan Black belt at 9 years of age (at the time the youngest person in Europe) eventually gaining 2nd Dan level. I also spent time playing Table Tennis nearly making the England junior team, I played Tennis at County Level, and football at school level.
I never did so well at school, mainly because sport ruled my life, and left before my 16th Birthday.
I had a short work stint in Engineering before leaving to ‘travel the world’ NZ, OZ, Scotland, Europe, I did seasonal work, went on an Expedition with Operation Raleigh to Alaska for 3months, and generally had some
great experiences.
During Service
I joined the 1st Battalion Devon and Dorset regiment after the 1st Iraq war, I was in Belfast during the summer of 1993, there at the time of the Shankhill Bombing.
I also was deployed to Bosnia Summer 1995 and was in the Maglaj Finger and on Mt Igman during Op Grapple 6.
I had the fortune of being involved in some great stuff, I passed the JNCO cadre, I trained and took part in the Army Downhill Ski Championship,
I went on a training exercise as a rock climbing team leader in the Italian alps with an the Italian Alpini’s, the Italian Mountain Troop, and trained in Canada at Batus followed by adventure training in Calgary.
I left the service as I felt my career aspirations were not aligned with what the Military had in mind for me. Despite that it was a career defining time in my life.
After Service
I left the Military and did the typical Night Security job before finally sorting myself out, enrolled at the local Polytec, and studied a Certificate in Management then went out on the road into Supervisory roles, I had the fortune of being involved in a great range of industries, Hospitality, Landscape Construction, Outdoor Activities, Design and Print, Mail Processing. Prior to Starting my own business, I progressed to Senior Management before leaving the world of employment at 40 years of age and have spent the following 14 years working for myself, building a successful business. Along the way, I started a few additional businesses that didn’t work which provided valuable learning.
During this time I moved to the other side of the world, got married and had three children, now all grown up and left home.

I’m down to earth, a straight talker, a no-nonsense guy who dislikes the use of jargon to sound important.
You certainly won’t hear me ‘go forward’, I’m a ‘from now on’ kinda guy.
